Description I started this with a turquoise Sharpie that had a non-sharp point. I noticed that many of the little creatures were just a blur though; I could make out the details I was sure they wouldn't show up in a photograph. I then decided to go over it with a fine-tip felt-tip pen; I'd either mess it up more or... It worked! I did this in my bedroom when I couldn't sleep, and the lighting isn't the best; so, I didn't know till later that I had used purple to draw the details. I think it works=}

Actually, all of my Inktober drawings have been done during attacks of insomnia and severe pain, all in the wee hours of the morning.

Anywho... (as a friend at one site used to write) I started with a girl playing a fluted blossom, quickly adding the wings. Now what?! The winged creature at the top left was next; it's heading for a six-point landing, as you are seeing its tummy. Then came a couple of regular butterflies and several very strange winged creatures; somewhere in there, I started adding a flower in between drawing the creatures. Next to the two flute-flowers, the next four look like a family to me.

I'm actually rather proud of how it turned out and plan to do the blunt Sharpie detailed in fine-point Sharpie again. I just wish my camera could capture the vibrant quality that resulted. I worked with it for a while, trying to match the look.

Wow! I didn't mean to write so much. Maybe it's because my hands aren't in severe pain as they have been for several days. I was worrying if I was going to have to stop sketching and even typing!

But, it's Day 19!

Thank you!

It did turn out even better than I expected, especially considering that I didn't have a set image in mind. I started with a figure playing a flute that turned into a musical flower and went from there. If I hadn't gone over it with a darker color, I'm not sure if the drawing would have made much sense. So, I'm glad I risked it!

Thank you! I was happy that I decided to use the fine-tip; otherwise, it was pretty much a blur that only I might understand.

I really thought I might make a mess of it, but I'm rather proud of it!
