I'm sorry that this picture sux but I'm uploading it anyways for YOU.Just don't be too harsh on it, okay? I know the head is huge, the body too short, the colours hurt and so on. Just not very good.
I'm sorry about the dragon balls too, they now look like random tumours.
Anyhow!
I was going to draw a bad-ass dragon reptile but many keep ranting over my pokémon looking like dinos (it's may mostly I who suck because it seems like my rodents are believed to be dinos too, hence, even if it looks like dinos it's not what I had in mind!) so this dragonair inspired by amphibian shapes instead.
Eh, let's see...
Dragonair is an amphibian that lives in the ocean, feeding upon fish, moluscs and other things it can catch. The jaws are quite reduced; they mainly suck their prey in.
Mostly they are living out in the open ocean and are there for very rarely seen, but at some occasions they gather to mate nearer shores at certain locations. This is where their horn comes in... Its not for males fighting but near shore, there’s another food-resource; clams and oysters (shellders included). They uses the horn not only to crack their shells but also to bend them loose.
Most of the breathing goes through the skin but if the pokémon need to work harder and need extra oxygen, it can pump out blood into the external gills. But usually they don't and as the gills are bloodless, they appear white.

personally i see a realistic dragonair that is badass in most every way I can think of, I am starting to...heh, RE-introduce my interests to pokemon, so was looking for a good drawing of dragonair and yours looked very nice.

Whoa. You're just so clever. I love the idea of the wing thingies turned into gills! And the horn idea is a great touch! This makes me wish you did more of these now, but hey, it's your time, do whatever you wish.
Man, all these beautiful pokemon would probably only have a chance in a crowd full of biology geeks XP Of course, I'm sort of one, so I love all these.

Personally, I don't know what people are talking about, your pokemon don't ALL look like dinosaurs.
But I really like how this came out! Very nice and smooth and wonderfully amphibian indeed!

Personally, I like the fact that lots of your Pokemon resemble dinosaurs. This is mainly because I love reptiles. But putting that fact aside, if you look at many of the sprites in the games, LOTS of the species in general look like reptiles, other than the ones that obviously are not, such as the birds. You shouldn't let the negative comments of others effect your art. You should be able to draw Pokemon however you wish whether they are reptilian or not.

Gosh I just love everything you draw! Poke'Realisim is so refreshing from the Anime styles. I mean, the Anime stuff is still cool, but this give it even more personality and thought.

Hn, not your best, I know, but it's amazing. The anatomy seems to be fine for an amphibian. I love how you made the ears into gills. I made a version of Dragonair that was based off of a Flying Fish and a gecko. I stripped it of legs. XD It looked decent, but yours is amazing.

For colouring, I'm mostly using watercolour pencils. It's a pencil which colour floats out if soaked, giving a mixed effect of pen and watercolour.
