I why so many people dislike this one, I think it’s okay. I know that tube is attached to mewtwo’s neck and not the head, I just happened to draw it that way.Related content

ugh... im not gonna lie, the tube freaks me out a little bit.
but that is what he looks like, i guess... and i really like his face. its super pretty (yeah i know that sounds kinda weird).

only reason i dont like it is becuase i never liked MewTwo, but the picture is still incredible.

To Zerodius: I don't think mewtwo is that bad, considering a few other translations this artist has made which may seem a little questionable. I'd say making charizard lose its fire is much more absurd than not making its ears just like mewtwo's, myself.

I love the idea of Mewtwo as cybernetic, but I'm afraid I otherwise have to agree with the previous poster.
Still, I love your work. My biggest two complaints with pokemon, despite loving the games, was that it was A) marketed at eleven-year-olds, and B) half of the creatures just looked silly. After seeing your gallery, the first conclusion I came to was -
Nintendo needs to hire you. Now.

First, I would like to say that the drawing is very detailed and actually quite well-colored, with well defined lines.
However, I think that even by taking into consideration that you were going for a realistic approach, your drawing has strayed too far from the canon, making it seem like something else.
Here is what I believe went wrong:
First of all, the shape of the head. Mewtwo's head, despite it all, actually look quite like Mew's actually. I believe that his head look dissimilar most of the time due to the fact that he's not seen from the same angle as Mew usually. In this pic, his head looks more like an imp's. So, in this point, I believe you made a mistake.
One point that I especially didn't like and found to be very different from the original are the tube and the cables. Mewtwo is definitely a biological being with no cybernetic parts, the tube actually being a massive vein that is a part of his body. Making it into some kind of obviously mechanical tube seems to be a mistake to me. I also fail to see why Mewtwo should have any cables on his head. They just seem superfluous to me.
Finally, the ears, last time I checked canon art and sprites, were located on the top of his head and are always horn-shaped (I believe they're actual ears despite the shape ; no color changes or anything to show that they're bony). I think that the ears's position and shape is too different from the original.
Don't get me wrong, the drawing is well-done... but adding up all those differences, if you hadn't stated it was a drawing of Mewtwo, I would have thought it was the drawing of a cyborg imp rather than Mewtwo and since this is meant to be a drawing of Mewtwo, I think that you have strayed too much from canon overall.

Well... first I do not know who invented the "realistic pokémon" term and put it on my art... I prefer to call it "more biologically correct pokémon", I just want to give them more natural shapes
For mewtwo, I've always seen the things of mewtwos head as ears... so that's what I drew them like. The "mew" part of the name also make me think of a cat, so again I came to think of ears.
The tube idea came from that mewtwo is created (and raised in a tank), I thought that maybe it's actually mechanically enchanted.
This particular picture is rather old thought, I dont know how I would draw mewtwo today

I really like this picture, and I agree with you interpereting the things on his head as ears, as he is a clone of mew, and the things on mew's head are ears, kinda like a kitty. The mew is, obviously, a characteristic of a cat, and even if you look up "mew" in the dictionary, it defines it basically as a sound from a cat, so....apparently their position for the pokemon mew was sort of as a cat. That is my reason for interpreting the things on his head as ears. Sorry for this enormous and kinda dumb explanation thingy, but your pictures are so....lifelike, detailed, and beautiful, it almost instantly provokes comments from me. I love your art!!!!!

It's probably because most people (including myself) think that the thingys on his head are horns, and not ears. But your version is completely reasonable.

i love it! the detail (there i go againwit the detail XD but i still cant get over how good it is!) but anyways, yeah the tubes on the neck, but its still awesome!
