I hate Twilight like mad. I don't mind letting everyone know about it! XD Bella is a ruin to all heroines because of her oh-so-Mary Sue characteristics, Edward is a gay sparkling Gary-Stu who needs a steak through his heart, and anyone who likes the series should be shot fifty times in the foot, hung, drawn and quartered. Was that enough to prove I hate this goddamn series with the burning intensity of a thousand desert suns . . . ?

Yeah if people really wanna go read good literature then they should give the hell up on modern writers like Meyer and Rowling and Paolini.
I hate the fact that everyone thinks they can do anything nowadays, and it doesn't require talent or skill or study. It's the human ego. :/
If people REALLY wanna read some enjoyable material then they should look at Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and Mary Shelley. There are some really good books out there, that have been the foundation for everything writers are "inventing" nowadays.
Tolkien and Lewis really pwned the fantasy genre, essentially creating it. And Mary Shelley wrote the very first science-fiction novel, Frankenstein.
People need to know where the origins of their interests come from, and maybe take some interest in THAT instead.
