Description Star Wars fanart! This is actually a picture I drew, like, a year ago, and only recently got around to finish.

Tenel Ka Chume Ta'Djo, Jedi Knight and princess of the Hapes Consortium, (here seen as a teenager,) is one of my favourite characters from the Young Jedi Knights books. She's the daughter of a Hapan prince and a Dathomiri witch. As a result, she has been trained as a warrior of Dathomir from a very young age, and even as a Jedi she still wears their characteristic scale armor.

Her dedicated training and perfectionistic nature made her one of the most badass characters in the books, rivalled only by Lowbacca, Chewie's nephew. (And it's pretty hard to top a Jedi Wookie in that regard.)

Tenel Ka is a serious, logical girl who doesn't flaunt her emotions. She serves as the romantic interest of Jacen Solo, and a running theme in the stories was his constant attempts to make her laugh with his rather questionable jokes. She's a good and trustworthy friend, however, and occasionally she'll let you see that rare smile.

About her hair: Tenel is described as always wearing her hear tied in multiple "warrior's braids." Cover art, etc, usually depict her with an entire head full of them. That was way to difficult to draw, though, especially since I was going for a sort of simplified, cartoonish look. So I ended up giving her only five -the last one is on her back.

Things That Are Wrong That I Already Know About:

Wierd shadows, for one. I suck at shading, unfortunately. Major kudos to and for putting up with me long enough to help me out.

Her anatomy is sort of screwed up as well, especially the face, but whenever I tried to change it, I found that I lost the expression I like so much.

In the end, though, I'm pretty much satisfied.

Tenel Ka and Star Wars belongs to George Lucas and LucasBooks.

I like how clean it is, and I love the scales effect And shading on the face is not that bad, it's pretty cel-shading at the right dose. Another and: the expression is really good, I love her eyebrows.

I read a couple of these books when I was 15-16 and I loved that character, too... God, warrior princess with red braids... exactly the kind of character to make me wish I was her
I remember that she lost a hand, did I hallucinate that?

Damn, you liked YJK too? What are the odds?

She lost her arm, actually. Cut right above the elbow in a lightsaber accident, though you can't see that in this picture. That whole thing was a major turning point for the character.
All I can say is, it takes a very special person to lose a limb and somehow managing to come out even *more* awesome from it.

I'm also rather impressed that the writers had the cajolies to permanently dismember a major character in a book series primarily aimed at young readers.

(By the way, this was another reason for the simplified hair. IIRC, the books mentioned her doing the braids by herself with only her remaining hand. That made the "head full of braids" thing sound sort of unlikely.)

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. I'll see if I can't top it with the next one. Shouldn't be too hard.

Ah, so that's who it is. Didn't recognise her with that haircolor.

Cheers for kickass, one-armed ladies, eh?

I'll have to make do with the complacency of having two arms.
