... or more accurately: reincarnations, the original incarnation, and a bibliophile.

A new Higurashi picture? That must mean that I've been reading more of the sound novels, correct? ... yes, very much so.

This time, we have Rika, the reincarnation of the goddess Oyashiro (also known as Hanyuu), enjoying some time in Gensokyo.
Does that mean that this Rika has not made it through the endless June of 1983 and has become forgotten, landing in the Land of Fantasy? Or does it mean that I just wanted to make a crossover and have Rika and Akyuu meet, because they are both reincarnations of people of the past, and both share knowledge of past lives (well, technically, Rika remembers her own lives of past worlds and not the life of who she is the reincarnation of, but close enough)?
Heck, they even have a similar hair color. xD
Though I guess I made Akyuu's hair a bit more purple than it needed to be.

Even though Rika prefers to drink her wine pure, she seems to be in good mood today, and thins down her drink with orange juice (and a lot of it) so that Hanyuu won't have to taste the alcohol through the connections they share.
Btw, while Hanyuu is visible to everyone in the last chapter of Higurashi anyway, I attribute her visibility here to them being in Gensokyo, where all forgotten creatures and objects appear before everyone. E.g., while Kanako and Suwako certainly were not visible to anyone (but Sanae) in the outside world, they certainly are visible to everyone in Gensokyo. Same logic applies to Hanyuu here.

While I wanted to include Hanyuu from the start, I decided to add Kosuzu as well because this is probably the only chance for me to draw her.
Speaking of Kosuzu, now that I have drawn her, her hair style is remarkably similar to Komachi's. And here I thought I could get away from what I'm drawing for my comics for a bit.

Why is Kosuzu so freaked out?
The human village is a youkai-free zone, and yet, here, in the Hieda mansion, is a person, flying, with horns, and she is definitely not EX-Keine.
That does make me wonder: are gods allowed in the human village? Hm...

Kosuzu was a lot of fun to draw, and her checkered clothes were surprisingly easy to do. Probably because the checkers are so large.
I also practiced some more drawing creases in clothes. I think it worked out? I may have overdone it in spots. Oh well, gotta keep practicing if I want to become better.
I could have done a better angle, too, but by the time I realized that, I was too far in already and didn't want to start over. Maybe next time.

Anyway, gotta end my ramblings and get back to my comics (the latest comics was already sketched out when I started with this picture, so unless I spend all day gaming, it should be done by next weekend.)
