Uwah, it's March already, and this is the my first picture of the year?! What happened?
I'm terribly sorry for not working on my comics this entire time. >.<;

Anyway, have some Haruhi Suzumiya x Touhou Project fan art.
Apparently, this is the first time I've ever done a crossover between those two series, despite those two being my two most drawn series in recent years. Makes you wonder how I avoided making a crossover for so long.

This happened when I... I actually can't even remember how this came to be.
I just know that eventually, I realized that both Mikuru and Sakuya had connections to the topics of "maid" and "time (travel/ manipulation)". But I think that wasn't how this all started... Heck, I think I started out just imagining Sanae as Haruhi for no reason whatsoever, and the rest just fell into place. xD
Also, you know how difficult it was for me not to draw Patchouli for Yuki? Those bibliophiles... but I needed an alien because Haruhi really wanted one... which is why I almost drew Nue, who, despite not being an alien, has that whole UFO motif. But then I remembered that Lunarians technically are considered aliens, so Reisen became my pick for Yuki. Also, I realized that, due to LoLK, Reisen has become of the Playable Command, and all other characters in this picture are playable characters too, so how could I not go for this theme? ^^

Eventually, I considered exchanging Sanae for Sumireko, because I think she fits a lot better for Haruhi's role, but that would have ruined the Playable Command motif I accidentally stumbled into, so I gave her a small cameo in Sanae's panel instead (since I needed a person sitting in the seat behind Sanae).

So in the end, we got Sanae as Haruhi because... ehm... because Sanae is an outside human who came to Gensoukyou, which is a world filled with supernatural beings, and Haruhi is a "normal human" who searches for said beings? Sure, let's roll with that.
We have Reisen as Yuki because of the alien motif, Sakuya as Mikuru because Time Maids, Marisa as Koizumi because magic/ ESP and Reimu as Kyon...ko. Because they're the normal snarky types. Also, Kyon has traveled to an alternate timeline once and could thus be considered a slider, which is what Haruhi also searches for according to her introduction speech in the light novel. And it just so happens that Reimu is the protector or a barrier separating two "worlds" and, since ULiL, has actually been to the outside world once.

Regarding the picture itself, I got lazy in the end and rushed the backgrounds. xD;
Nothing new, I know.
I like how Sakuya and Reisen turned out, though.
I tried my luck with creases in clothes once again, and... well, it's a start, certainly.

And while I'm on the topic of "trying things out", more low angle-y shots! Yaaay. 'Cause I really need to practice those. ('Cause I suck at them.)

And I don't know why, but I love how Sumireko turned out. ^^
Maybe I should start using those lines-for-eyes in my comics from now on. xD
Also, I need more Sumireko (and Renko) art. But that's nothing new to me.

I really hope it won't take me another three months until the next picture. o3o
