Description
The mermaid cursed to be in human form, and the adventurous prince who helps her find her way back home.I had a dream about their story. About how she's unintentionally wrapped up into their human war, about how he runs away on his ship with her to set her free back into the ocean. And perhaps on that long journey a relationship between them makes things a bit more complicated...
Did this quick drawing of them so they'd stay in my head. I don't know his name, but I think her is Erinae.
Maybe I'll actually get back into writing just to tell their story. Then maybe they'll tell me how it ends, because even I don't know. But I have my hopes....

Why "Erinae"? I know that the name "Erin" is Irish in origin, meaning both "Ireland" and "Peace". It makes it slightly ironic that her name could potentially mean peace when 'she's unintentionally wrapped up into their human war'.

Aghhhhhhhhh oh my gosh there is just so much awesome coloring going on here! The light blue in her hair is so delicate and is such a great contrast to her skin. :3 Also the way you rendered her hair is so soft and shiny and precious looking~~~ <3

Oh please do. I know "starcrossed lovers" is a cliche, but usually when a mermaid is in it, it's always "mermaid wants to see the surface world and eventually joins them because of sexy prince and controlling secret mermaid society is the issue". Seriously, always. It'd be nice to have humanity be the curse and the human war be the conflict. (Closest I've seen was a subplot in The Banned and the Banished where mer-girl side character wants to see the surface, is captured, gets caught up in human shit with soon to be lover human, finds out humans actually all came from the sea (or maybe just the ones near the sea did) and were banished merpeople, and even then the controlling secretive merpeople government (of which, of course, her mother is a member) don't want her to be with her human lover (who is actually a dragon). Yay fantasy books making no sense!)

You mean the one I was talking about? It's The Banned and the Banished, though the merpeople bit doesn't start 'til the second book (Wit'ch Storm) and is not the main plot, just part of it. Though I'll admit, it was my favorite part.
