Description An old piece drawn after Sept. 11, when I had more hope that we could make amends for our past and strive towards a brighter future. Obviously, history has spoken differently. Feel free to interpret it as you wish.

Go away, Spanish one. If you call Mexico "The United States of Mexico" which could be called "United States" in Latin America, what do you call the United States of America then?

Cool picture. I assume that the lady holding the flag is Freedom, the lady in the blindfold is Justice, and of course the lady with the bloody sword is Liberty.
We shed a lot of blood in the name of liberty.

I love this pic so much, especially for its little details (the weird pyramid-eye on Lady Liberty's sword, for example. Are you familiar with Tarot? The way you drew her sword reminds me of the Ace of Swords.) The flag-holding character reminds me of that famous photograph of Iwo Jima.

FWIW, everyone here in Canada was bat-shit terrified when 9-11 happened. For us, it was kind of like watching one's big brother get shot in the chest. (In my case, it really didn't help that my parents' 20th anniversary happened the day after so many people lost their spouses. Needless to say, we didn't celebrate )

I love the spirit of hope and patriotism in this artwork, but I hate so much the word 'America' used for meaning the United States only. America, the New World, has more countries in it than just the States.

I love this. Really well done. I think it's strength lies in the fact that it can be interpreted differently by different people and I like that you were not too specific in your description about what you intended it to say, allowing the piece to provoke the thoughts of others. An instant Fav!

I love that top figure - there's some painting out there (Baroque, though I can't remember the title or artists) I think it has to do with the French revolution or something. Oh, I remember the name, 'Liberty leading the people' ( [link] rev=/images%3Fq%3Dliberty%2Bleading%2Bth e%2Bpeople%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D )

Anyhow, the top figure reminds me of that.

This looks like it portrays the allegorical figure Marianne, which I believe represents the revolution and the republic of France. I can definately see the similarities, not just artistically, but also with the portrayed message.

Even if I don't really know you, I understand your feelings...
Even if this drawing was made for another event, it's adapted to this sad situation.

The image is awesome. Great poses and color scheme. I like the 'floating' stars on the flag.
