Description
My submission to this year's Symphonies in Fur Minor portfolio. Because I rarely draw them, few people realize that ring-tailed lemurs are my favorite animal. Even moreso than squids!
And of course, you probably all know of my Pink Floyd obsession by now. Hehe. So here's a young lemur who just got a pair of wings by some magic, and is still learning to use them, accompanied by his naturally winged buddies.I personally consider this my best piece yet, unfortunately I fear the digital camera may have mangled it a bit. It's also my very first really good attempt at a landscape with clouds! I hope that you enjoy, and buy the portfolio! It will be released at Anthrocon this year, which I will be attending.

I really like the overall concept of it, but the art itself is gorgeous, too! All the detail on the Lemur, it's fur, the other animals, etc. I love how they all have that feel of realism, but you can still see your own unique style shining through! All of the animals look really great, but the BACKGROUND is really amazing! I ADORE the clouds- Clouds are always incredibly difficult for me to draw! But the rest of the BG (the valley with the river leading toward the mountains) is really beautiful!
Overall, this is a really incredible pic! <333

I have to say, I'm really quite impressed with this picture. I think what strikes me first is the mood, with the brightly colored sunset (Or maybe dawn, I can never seem to tell...) clouds and the illumination of the background scene. I also think the texture of our flying lemur friend here is excellently done, not to mention that of the other flightly creatures in the scene. Besides adding a few points of interest, I also like how they add a bit of a swoopy motion to the scene. I'm even more impressed it manages to look so good under a digital camera, because those things tend to murder pictures. Awesome work!

Like the touch of the clouds being colored, with the green mountains and blue water, you get the whole spectrum.
