Spitfire's Side:
Spitfire is the descendant of a purely Pegasus family, even going down to the ancient ruler of Timbucktu, King Orion, and Masquerade Mystique, his... what's the polite word for concubine? Lover? She had kids with him, that's the point. Haymaker was a trainer for the Wonderbolts and even coached his granddaughters when they were in the Wonderbolts Academy. Spitfire even took his place as instructor when he moved on to less intensive work (although he never really gave up the craft). He had very weak wings, but was still able to fly, and he often used that as a motivational ranter. "I could fly circles around you with these little wings, you little featherbrains! Now get out there and fly!". His daughters, Pecking Order and Gilded Glider took different professions, but remained true to their heritage. Pecking Order took up his more aggressive way with words and married Opening Number, the announcer for the Wonderbolts and had two children, Winding Wave and High Lights, and Glider took his flying ambitions, although she could not pass the Wonderbolts Academy trials, she did manage to score tickets to the Gala, meeting her lover and wife, Tiger Lily. They had twin daughters, Blaze Burn and Spitfire. Blaze Burn married Firestreak, having Atomic Fireball, a bartender and waitress. His sister Burnout Blast hasn't got anypony, but she doesn't want anypony, so she's cool. Spitfire, she married Soarin, with whom she had two daughters, Flame Burst and Muddy May, both with serious birth defects, which lead them to not have further children. Flame Burst has underdeveloped wings and Muddy May is a false alicorn/pegacorn, as a result of a gene or two out of whack that has left her with a lot of problems.
Soarin's Side:
Soarin's mother, Cloud Column is a workaholic corporate stuck up, who distanced herself from her two younger twin sisters, who have not too much in the way of relations with the rest of the family as a result of that. Rainy Weather is a delegate for a living, as is his brother Fluffy Clouds, and met Column at a conference. Fluffy Clouds is a neurotic wreck with not too much in the smarts department, and huge abandonment issues. He met Cubist Carnival at the delegate meetings, and her quiet nature calms him down from his issues. Stormy Weather and Hurricane Warning had twin daughters, Dicey Dancer and Yoyo Twirl, who is dating Loop De Loop. Night Glider was Soarin's sister before she vanished, and settled down with Sugar Belle and had two daughters, Milky Way and Jinglebread. High Winds married Surprise, and they had Sky High. Surprise's twin, Breezie, married Wild Flower and had Sweet Honeyflight, who is going steady with Sierra Beauty, Babs Seed and Electric Sky's daughter.
