too lazy to think of a creative title. I sorry.anyhow, this delightful little owldeer here, SoftWing, belongs to *sighthoundlady . he's such a unique and strange and lovely design, very much a joy to draw. I wanted to do more with real media (namely coloured pencils) and I had a lot of fun with this! I hope you like it, Jessica!

Oh wow! This IS quite a unique character here.
*giggles* Your deer anatomy looks a bit like canine anatomy. But the wings are hella lot better than anything I can do, as is your canine anatomy (as well as what's drawn here), so I guess the joke's on me.

I know, I just adore his design and I'm really glad I got the chance to draw him!
it's funny you should say that, because I heavily used a ref photograph of a musk deer, since I wanted to get the details and the anatomy right. o.x; so I actually noticed all the differences. his knees are much higher than in dogs, and the body shape is also very different from how I would draw a canine's. but some influence of what you're used to drawing will creep in no matter what I guess! (I could still draw a deer and a canine side by side sometime to show you the differences, though.
