Description Toci-1 was already infamous for breaking tradition when it came to current theories on how animals adapt and function. However, the Three-legged Axe Face (TLAF) is known among younger scientists as the middle finger of Mother Nature. The animal seems to have a common ancestor with the Yowan, since both animals appear to be primarily bipedal. But some of tail bones fused to form a large hoof and by using powerful muscles can use it as an additional leg for additional traction.

How this was deemed necessary in evolution is a complete mystery, as there is strong evidence everywhere else that two legged animals can do well-without a tail ending with a foot. It is possible that the sharp hoof may have originally been used as a weapon against predators. Swinging such a tail can cause serious gashes through several layers of skin.

That aside, the TLAF has other interesting features. First off, it gets its name from the large blade that runs along its head. A head-on impact at full speed can cause lethal injuries and sometimes dismemberment. However, the TLAF is not always an aggressive predator. Every two weeks it sheds its entire row of upper and lower teeth, instead of at random events like most animals on Toci-1. However, every time it sheds, the shapes of the teeth are completely different. The ones above are clearly designed to tear and slice meat. But when they fall, they will be replaced by leaf shaped teeth design to scrape and chew plant matter. In summary, TLAF is omnivorous, and every two weeks it changes its diet. When eating plants, it prefers to eat closer to the ground, and it can use its axe to pry open tough globe plants that encase different species of tender soft plants.

ยซ Another creature that dates back from my early years of alien creation. It was meant to live somewhere on Geb-7 but its environment and classification was never obvious. Back then it was even more bizarre, having two separate mouths for its diet. Instead of its tail being its third leg, it was simply a triped with a tail. But having to modify the mouth meant I had to reintroduce something strange in this creature, so the tail leg was born. ยป

FUN FACTS
TLAF are poor swimmers, so they stay away from rivers.
Having such a flexible and strong tail enables this creature to scratch its own back whenever it has an itch.

Is the back leg tail derived?

This is a amazing concept, I think it would make more sense if the back leg had a some bones like the two others.

that's the reproductive organ. Since it's on its back, this one is female.
