Description
The party ventures insede the thundering mountain. The chasm before them is deep, but they climb down the rocky cliffs. At the end of the cavern, a huge pile of gold and accessories, swords and armors, is waiting for them. But before they can come any closer, from the metallic mass the Fafnir comes out, and brings the elemental fire upon them.

Ecology
Inside great caves and chasms the fafnir calls its home. It's a major dragon with golden scales that loves anything that's shiny. It likes to pile all of its tresure near the end of its cave where it likes to sleep. Groups of up to five fafnir can live in the same cave, provided that there's enough room for all their hoards.
It continously brethes out large quantity of sulphur that build up in their bowels. They coat themselves in this sulphuric cloud to both deter potential predators and kill their prey.
Being a major dragon, its breath weapon consist of a magical flame that can give birth to fire elementals. One fafnir can control multiple elementals, but they often don't except for the most dire situations. The fire elementals can escape from the fafnir's control, so they are weary of what they summon.

Again with the dragons. This is my take on the classic hoarder dragon, a red or gold dragon. It is based on the classical myth of Fafnir, transformed in dragon by its greed. Its breath weapon is singular among other dragons because its magical, while the others are natural. This means that it can be affected by spells and magical zones.
