Description I wanted to do an anime Initial-D esk wallpaper involving a Jetta GLI! I used a photo as a reference for the basic shape of the car, then changed it a little to make it look all race ready and cool! If money wasn't an issue, that is how my humble Jetta GLI would look!

I wanted to really make the image dynamic and exciting, so I used a lot of directional lines on the backdrop to give a sense of speed. I also included the flipping car just to add to the sense of danger and excitement associated with street racing. Oh, the orange glow coming from the wheels are supposed to look like the brake rotors getting red hot. There was some confusion about that when I posted this image on the vwvortex.com earlier so I thought I should explain. Anyway, this pic was just a lot of fun to draw! Hope ya'll like it!

Hahaha, don't worry, I'm not an anti speed propagandist. I just wanted a catchy title... driving fast at appropriate times or by individuals that know their vehicle well is completely safe... I mean, look at the autobahn!

Even in the drawing it looks like it, which is actually a testament to your ability...
Though it's quite sad that I have spent enough time and money fixing up cars that I can actually recognise brake rotors in a drawing... hehe. I really need to get a life.

If you wanted to get a better-looking glow for the brake pads, you should've drawn the glow first and then shaded gray on top of it for the spinning rims.

Still looks great. One really can get a sense of speed out of this.

Ha ha, yeah, that does look like the yellow FB rx-7 from initial D... I didn't actually mean it to be the red sun FB specifically... when I was drawing the image I put the wrecking rx-7 in there out of contempt for rotary motors LOL! However, maybe somewhere in my subconscious I knew what I was really doing!

I can't believe I haven't said anything about this yet. It's pretty good, I'd hate to be the guy/girl who is in the yellow car who has wrecked baddly. Oh well, it's fiction so I don't think less you count a plot it will matter (too) much.

As for the rest of this, again, good job. The headlight effects, in addition to some other touches give an idea this does take place at night (beisdes the sky), or at the least on a very clouldy rainy day. Good job with the VW, and also nice work with the brakes glowing, which I'm assuming he's either doing heavy braking is he's just stoped using the brakes a lot. All in all, excellent job there. I can't really bother to see any flaws, it seams good enough, nice.
