AHHHH, I love it! The colour only enhances the detail of the monocrome areas, and the colours are perfectly chosen. A masterpiece!

Art is what YOU make of it, from someone's doodles to the Sistine chapel..
I only really doodle, but the thought that goes into it makes it my art

What is this..."colour" you speak of... I'm confused...
Heh, I should get some special filters for my eyes, so I can see the world in greys!
Like it - the teardrop shapes are something I like to use too, and you can see how good they are here. Its good how there is a combination of detailed and colour, adds real interest.
This is all really late, you'll probably find i've commented on loads of linears posted ages ago...

I see you added more to this one. You have more images and ilusions with this one. Matt, I know I'm always mentioning that--images--illusions. For me--that is the real meet in this type of abstract. It's not what you see---it's everything else that is clearly there but not the main focus. This is good. I pull much out of this. I do understand that my eyes are highly developed in this area. Again, nice work

yes, quality colored pencils are nice. You can get so many shades out of one color--blending various colors and such is nice. I need to do a few in colored pencil. It's been a while. I use prismcolor pencils and artist markers. I'm sure the're other good brands too

it's part of your job now-no? Then there's nothing to think about. You have to spend money to make it. I know art isn't your main income--but as soon as you start selling--offering services--you're in business. Write off all business expenses starting whenever you started. I know you might know all this already Matt, but I don't know
I can't begin to tell you how much I've had to spend over the years for business. Advertising--accountant--business insurance--commercial vehicle insrance--materials--upkeep of truck--phone--gas---on and on.
Forget about the guys that open up even small stores. Figure 100--150,000 right out of the gate. What about marketing? Inventory? Computer programs for the business? Insurance--etc--etc
Art expenses--you guys are spoiled. Art is one of the cheapest businesses to run--really.
Unless you run a major site with a ton of expenses, open an art gallery. Private websites set up by webmasters--etc--having all the latest software for art--that can run into money.
I have a private art site with 20 pages for 150.00 Includes all sorts of goodies. Emails--tracking--etc
If you advertise Matt--track your site. A must!! I have a whole bunch of issues I want to talk to you about--but not here--ok
--I wonder what it costs to run DA? If the're doing things right they should be making quite a bit.
