Acrylic on canvas - 30" x 40"

Thanks again Wolle!

Don't live your life waiting for life to happen. Like we almost did to the Eagle via DDT, shooting, etc... life eats the bystanders. Be an Eagle, be a survivor, live your life to the fullest. Go to your grave exhausted and spent screaming "What a ride baby!" Attack Life.

Excerpts from Wikipedia - [link]

"by the 1950s there were only 412 nesting pairs in the 48 contiguous states of the US."

"It was officially removed from the U.S. federal government's list of endangered species on July 12, 1995, by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, when it was reclassified from "Endangered" to "Threatened." On July 6, 1999, a proposal was initiated "To Remove the Bald Eagle in the Lower 48 States From the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife." It was de-listed on June 28, 2007."

When I moved out here from MN to Spokane in 1990 there was only a handful of eagles that made the annual stop at Wolf Lodge Bay on Couer D Alene lake to feed on spawning salmon. Every year I go out there and every year the numbers have been increasing. Between the Golden and Bald Eagles this year the high tally day was 135 on Dec 31 2009.

Turned out very well, and I think adding the highlights to the chest gave it just the right definition against wing.

I love this! Brilliantly done! Though I wish you would have slightly been boolder with colours it would have made it amazing. But still love this.

Thank you! Bear in mind my camera work is notoriously bad but I'm curious about "bolder colors". Mostly because I agree and wish I had too. Despite the quality of the pic and the fact it is brighter than it appears here I agree with you.

I have an image in my mind of how it should have been but for whatever reason, fear and lack of know how mostly, I couldn't pull the trigger. I pushed my skills with this one so feel free to expand a little on that comment.

I do appreciate the comment and the constructive criticism.

Thank you.

Ah I get tht a lot. Just adjust the contrast till its like the original image, scanners and cameras are rarely reliable on these matters.

And I know the feeling, I do tht a lot too. But when I do manage to conjure enough courage I like it. So you gotta learn to take risks. Especially since you can not mess it up later if you mess it up and learn from it now. Better than being scared all ur life right? Thats at least what I tell myself, still isn't a pleasant feeling when I do mess it up Just take a before pic if it helps.

Try adding blacks if it seems dull even after adjusting the contrast

Its good to see Nature and Man working together to save endangered species. In my life time I don't ever want to hear that the Star Trek episode came true ,when they traveled many years back in time to find a Whale as in the future there are none living. Now to the painting you have done a tremendous job on this so true to life it could be a photo.Kudos to you my friend.

It boggles my mind that mankind can make decisions on what living creatures are worthy of saving and what's ok to let go extinct. Oh, that's a big soapbox for me.

Thanks! and thanks for the fave. Honestly, after my second WIP post I freaked. Froze for two weeks so I took a day off from work today just to finish it. It's not where I want to be but it is a step in the right direction for me. Thanks for your comments and support Mothergoose19, I want you to know I appreciate it!
