Description I came up with this in class. Basically the arms act more like a ballista, powered by two high tension coiled springs. Plus an automatic reset system via a worm-gear.  I spent a lot of time on this one.

once my computer gets fixed I'll put it up - it's a glider with wings that snap open just like your design

... Ever thought of connecting with some folks who could make it for you? Or send parts to and fro or some such?

It would be wonderful if I could, honestly if I had all the tools I think I could make most of the parts myself. I'd have to order the springs though.

How about a little project towards the advancement of this cause? Every few months or so you put a couple of bucks in a tin can just so you can piece by piece buy the tools needed? I do this with glass jar and loose change - and it goes for the books! And ordering springs via web is splendidly easy!

I wish it would only take a couple dollars, the machinery I'd need would be... probably 5000-10000 dollars when all said and done. I mean if I wanted to do everything properly.

You're definitely great in designing these gadgets - hope that the future holds her gems for you! But there's plenty of enthusiasts on the web and especially YouTube who have the tools to make various stuff at home - and you could easily exchange ideas with them!

Though still ...

But the weapon of war I'd personally love to tackle:

Wow... All of those are really awesome but I think the Harpsichord would be the most fun to make.

Nice!  One of the fun things about crossbows is that they have very little recoil in proportion to the energy that goes into the bolt.

And I see you're a Feegle.  With a crossbow... should I be worried?

Yeah, I really wish I could get a chance to build this one. Just to see if it was a viable option.

And yes, yes you should
(ps I'm so happy you know who the nac mac feegle are)
