Description

Basic Information:
Name: Timaeus Aleyn
Age: 17
Birthdate: March 9th
Gender: Male
Height/Weight: 5'9/142 lbs
Species: Magician
Ranking: Bronze
Magic: Light

Skills and Magic:
☀ Lucignis Mend: (Heal)
Timaeus uses his light magic to heal a single wound at a time, on himself or on an ally. The magic is pulled into a flickering ball of light which will knit skin, muscle, and/or bone together when applied to the injured area. It takes the time of 6 of the caster's heartbeats to complete, which makes it more effective when he is afraid or excited. During this time an acute burning sensation will be felt by the one being healed.
-This is best used on only the worst of wounds, as Timaeus can only cast it 4 times per day.

☀ Illumene Sabre: (Weapon Summon)
When this spell is cast a 31 inch saber (hilt included) is formed near instantly in the hand of the caster. The blade will last for an hour, and if this hour is used up another 30 minutes must be waited to summon it again. 30 minutes must also be waited if the sword is broken and the caster wishes to summon it whole. To use it effectively one has to know how to fight with a saber, which Timaeus does not, but if he desires he can give it to another non-dark affiliated ally and the sword will not dematerialize as long as he remains within a 20 ft radius of that ally. A dark ally can touch it, but not without being burned by the hilt.
-This weapon is a little more effective against dark magic users, but other than that it has the potency and durability of a normal steel sword.
-It always emits a slight glow and can be used as a light source as powerful as that of a candle.

Personality:
+Generous+ | +Trusting+ | +Determined+ | +Open Minded+
-Naive- | -Impulsive- | -Arrogant- | -Quick-tempered-
Timaeus has never known deep and extended suffering. He has seen pain, heard of wars, and brushed past people with loss heavy in their eyes, but for the most part these were always distant things and didn't apply to him or those he knew closely. This has resulted in a naive nature, and he doesn't always understand the consequences of his actions. This, combined with a desire to prove himself himself, causes him to impulsively throw himself into situations that could be dangerous to him or others. He can be insecure about his abilities and will assume a demeanor of arrogance to cover this up. When any of these insecurites are brought to attention his temper will rise and he will become defensive towards the aggravator.

The same lack of hardship that caused Timaeus's naivete has also resulted in a generous nature. He will often agree to give assistance to those that ask, and will tend to trust others, only distrusting them when he has a reason to do so. He will face tasks with a sturdy determination, and hates giving up or finishing things halfway. Growing up in the accepting town of Stonehaven has given him an open mind, and a willingness to learn, and he will not discriminate due to species or looks.

Biography:
During a balmy Stonehaven night, Timaeus was born the youngest of six children to a merchant father and a healer mother. In his younger years his father was often away from home on mercantile ventures, but this didn't stop his mother from effectively raising her large family while simultaneously healing any that needed it. She would not judge or ridicule any patient, and would do all she could to save anybody that she thought could be saved. Though he never admitted it throughout his life, Timaeus held a deep respect for her and what she stood for. As soon as he could dream of a future he wanted to follow in her footsteps and become a healer himself.

This dream changed when Timaeus was 10 years old. It was a chill autumn evening and there had been an unusual amount of injuries that day. Not only that, but many of the patients had been irritable, his father had been gone for a week, and one of his older sisters had come down with a fever. He was sitting quietly in the room where his mother treated her patients. The year before it had been a forbidden room, only enterable when it needed cleaning, but his mother had determined he was coming along well in his healing magic, and that she could teach him more effectively while she worked. When a boy not much older than Timaeus himself was carried in with his chest caved in by a horse kick, the young Timaeus thought he saw something in his mother break. He wasn't certain what it was, but her eyes, strained with weariness, lost their light, and her shoulders slumped. She snapped at him to leave the room, but his worry at seeing his mother in this state and his growing confidence at his healing successes on injured small animals caused him to push his way forward instead. He imagined it as he had before, the light burning away the bad, pushing broken pieces into unblemished wholes. It had worked on a bird's broken wing, and a squirrel's scratched leg. This time, however, that was not the case. Some of the boy's ribs had healed, but at odd angles, and he wheezed with further pain at the burning Timaeus's healing magic caused. Timaeus stared in horror at his failure until he was firmly pushed out of the room. His mother was able to save the boy, but he would have trouble breathing and lingering chest pains for the rest of his life. Timaeus worked tirelessly over the next year to perfect his spell, working only on himself, and when he could finally cast it to his satisfaction he informed his mother that he didn't want to be responsible for lives of others on the scale that she was. With this, he discarded the dream he had clung to his entire life.

The next four years were carefree and cheerful. Outings with friends and siblings were commonplace, as were odd jobs, dances, temper driven fistfights (though none too serious), and stories and lessons from a woodcarver by the lake. Time seemed to fly, and thoughts of the future began to weigh more heavily on Timaeus's mind with each passing year. Because of this, though he didn't think much of his oft absentee father at the time, he agreed to ride on the caravan and perhaps learn some tricks of the trade, just as his eldest sister had done before him. Timaeus was the only one versed in healing magic on the expedition, and though mending the various wounds of the merchants and their assistants helped cure him of his fear of the practice, it didn't take long for him to decide he disliked the entire trip. He mostly huddled in the wagon with the textiles to be sold. This didn't change until a traveling performer/light magician joined the caravan to travel with them to the next town. The stranger won Timaeus over with stories of his travels, and the 15 year old decided becoming a traveling performer was his new destiny. He begged the traveler to teach him some of the spells the man used in his performing routine, and much to his father's chagrin the magician taught Timaeus how to summon a sword instead. The journey became much more exciting as Timaeus practiced his new spell, recieved a scar from the aforementioned practicing, explored the caravan, and listened to what stories the traveler had to offer. At the next town Timaeus displayed how terrible he was at selling anything to their potential customers, and his father gave him some money and urged him to explore instead. Timaeus returned with a pierced ear in the fashion of his new idol, much to the traveling performer's amusement and his father's dismay. He was quite proud of this reception, and though he was banished to the wagon for the rest of the trip and the traveling magician had to leave the group, he sat with a quiet pride and continued to practice summoning his sword.

Two more years once again flew by, and Timaeus dismissed his dream of being a traveling performer. Though the travelling part was alluring, the performing part did not hold the same appeal, and once again he was aimless. His desire to find a purpose only grew as his older siblings began to settle into trades of their own. When the wind blew a flyer advertising the Palaegius express into Timaeus's hands, he considered it a much welcome sign. On this train he would make something of himself, and eventually return to Stonehaven a powerful magician in his own right. His mother hated the idea, but with urging from his father that the travel would do him good, he left with both of his parents' hesitant blessing to the train that would change everything in his life as he knew it.
