That is indeed kinda creepy, those bridges have me thinking about scuttling creatures in the dark. wonderfully put together, so much eye bending detail very nice!

This is very well done ... and I don't mean the technique ... that's done perfect and I wouldn't expect otherwise from you.
I mean the atmosphere of those little villages we have here in a couple of countries in Europe, the atmosphere is SO important when you walk there...
You feel like being thrown back in time ... the stones, bridges and stairways seem to talk to you... you see small movements from the corner of your eye ... it's the people who live here, they're not hiding, they're just blending in ....
But it feels quite mystical how they seem to appear and dissapear from your field of view...
Those streets are filled with secrets, centuries of life going past..... ehm .... wake up Ellen !
*shakes her head and feels like she's been dreaming for a while*
Gonna have to fav this one as well Xam ... it's just so magnificant.

Wow, that is one awesome picture. It almost looks like the building on the right is going to collapse and fall onto the one on the left, but the "bridges" are keeping it from doing so. The person in the rocking chair on top of the steps reminds me of that movie, "The Ring"; I'm not sure why she does, but she's creepy . The whole picture is "creepy" in fact.

thats eactly what they are fgor.. those buildings were built in the middle ages (its in italy) and when they built higher they would fall in.. so they built these bridging arches across the streets to hold the buildings up! and im really glad you got the creepy feel.. thats just what i was going for! thanks!

I tried something similar once with only 2 photo's, so bearing in mind that you used six of them, I'm DULy impressed.

As for the image itself, It for some reason reminds of a series of photos from greece my godmother has.

I wouldn't mind going to places like these,
Seeing these worlds, so far from where I am now.

(Yeah, I've never been overseas before...)

Amazing work, sir!

6 in total! one was used for 'filler' reference where needed! yup, i was real lucky that between them all they did have an ascending perspective which allowed the end result to work rather well i think.

i thank you for sharing your thoughts! and thanks for stopping by my gallery! very appreciated!

Awesome idea! It captures the feeling of walking down those narrow canyon-valley streets with the mood of a dream: as if walking around the corner you will find yourself thrown into another world in the labyrinth.

KevinStephens In reply to xam [2005-04-16 23:19:40 +0000 UTC]

If I lived there? I'd probably be afraid the bridges would fall on me, to be honest. I mean, I'd be like, "Holy crap, it's so beautiful!", but then I wouldn't walk underneath them.

I love the majority of this compilation, it goes so well. Except on part where a wall doesnt fade into the next at all, and it therefore makes it look very out of place.

yeah, i originally was thinking of removing them carefully, the obvious focus was going to be the architecture. but then i realised that too.. they make it even eerier (is that a word i wonder) by being there!
