Description sometimes we are sat waiting
waiting to go to the next place, to whatever is next
next for us to see or do for everything seems as if
as if it's finished here, still and quiet but
but that's when it might just be about to start

don't put that seatbelt on just yet, this wasn't a flight, it was a quiet time in the right place, to help you see. it's just begun

it's here, it's now.

postscript: i have now placed a 'context' image in my scrapbook to accompany this image as well as the other 5 in the series.. [link]

*gasp* ...yes, you have arrived!!!

I love the balance, i'm weak in the knees for the b&w work of course.. but it's absolutely perfect in balance, perspective, and well to be quite honest I think these would be amazing in a series in a gallery!!! The simplicity is it's extravagence & elegance!!

well, thank you so very much! i can confirm my ego is stroked to the point of purring like a milk fed cat! if i knew a good printer/developer i might be tempted to work with the larger files and release these.. your words give me great confidence as i appreciate your own skill and eye for a shot!

i am pleased with the results from this little project of six images and wanted to give it a gallery feel as i released them over the course of one day.. i must say, i was overwhelmed by the responses and conversations that ensued and hope other visitors get to read those threads.. very good stuff indeed.

i am glad also that the simplicity factor came across and was allowed to 'speak' so that the 'moments' in the shots were pre-eminent and undistorted as much as possible by my bias. i really wanted to just 'convey' the image to the viewer as purely as possible and allow them the 'experience' or interpretation!

thanks again pook, you are always wlcome in this little pixelated gallery!

Is the plane floating on water? Its wonderful. Gliding safely through water and air. I love the contrast. What is the ribbon hanging from the wing? The reflection in the piece holding the propeller is great too. Reflections and white. Wonderful.

the tag says "remove before flight"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xam In reply to runecircle [2004-10-05 06:54:31 +0000 UTC]

astute observation.. the tag is attatched to the cover of the pitot (pr. pee-toh) tube.. a device that measures wind speed in flight. it's covered on the ground to keep it clean.
there's so many things we have to remove, uncover, and alleve ourselves of before we can fly.. a lifetime's work..

very special moment! love the sky and the rain drops!

i like the tag! "remove before flight". i think that would bee excellent to have printed on a tee shirt that i could wear next time i travel!

you win the prize!

first one to spot that! i wondered if anyone would! explanation: the red tag is attatched to the "Pitot (pr. pee-toh) Tube cover, it is an instrument that measures wind speed in flight. after landing, it is cleaned and then it's covered while the plane is on the ground to keep it clean.

btw, i think your t-shirt idea is crackin!

thank you sir, it was a greay rainy morning, the plane was docked at the side of the water and the raindrops beaded on the chrome prop cone.. no one was going anywhere..
