Description It's been a loooong time.

If this is giving you Shadows over Innistrad vibes, it's coincidental, though I can't tell you how stoked I was about the art for that set, despite all the Eldritch Moon jokes that ensued in my gaming group since.

This was originally a dnd character I designed and redesigned for a campaign and probably the first time she's ever been fully rendered due to a small cameo and having moved group online, I needed a token of her final. There's a lot of discarded concept art and sketches for her over the years for her but nothing ever felt right (I posted one of them here before ). Still not 100% on design but I still like the wings despite similarity. a Palabard of Milani (a Pathfinder god of Martyrdom, symbolized by a rose in a blood street street.) Given god's edgy symbolism and having a winged aasimar character just made sense at the time. There's more snippets about her character that I would love to explore through illustration but we shall see.

It's been a bit daunting to post art for a while, since a lot of what I was working on was digital, digital studies and experiments at that. I think I'm getting to a point where I definitely know more of what I'm doing now than 3 years ago and opening up and sketching Krita isn't so daunting. Still experimenting with different ways of approaching digital between flats and going for more dimensional rendering. I'd like to find tune more rendered art but also find a way of working that isn't as time consuming.

Oh wow! Thank you!

As for help, happy to help, I can critique your work but really depends on what you want help with? Like where do you want to see your art go and what mediums do you want to work with?

What may help most of all is definitely find a community of artists you can talk to, to exchange tips and tricks with and help you along your artistic journey.

which I'm part of atm is good for just that. Lots of opportunities for critique and chatting with others and entire tab dedicated to resources on how to draw or paint. There's a very active discord channel to boot.

WINGS ARE LIFE!   And thank you~! If there's one thing I do enjoy drawing immensely, it's wings, just wings on everything...

Thank you! There's no denying you've been inspirational to my own digital studies in all your diligence. I immensely appreciate your thoughtful comments.

Probably somewhere around 52~ hours over the duration of two weeks. I really should time myself to know exactly, as obviously there are pauses for food, sleep and other work. It felt faster at times than previous projects, probably because the parts that took the longest was unsurprisingly just getting the under drawing and composition right and once those were down it was more apparent what I had to work on next. Totally could sink more time into this piece, but trying to avoid overworking it.

Yeah, the early parts are always the most difficult and time consuming, because it's where you have to come up with ideas and everything. People usually think that the difficulty is in the details, but when you're at the point where you're painting details, usually everything is kinda sorted out and you just have to follow your own instructions, if that makes any sense. Except when it comes to vegetation. Then the details are awfully hard and I've yet to figure out how to paint it ;_;

That's a very accurate breakdown of process, though I often find myself reminiscing during or after the process wondering if I could have handled something better if I had had taken a different approach, but then, this is what studies are for in the quest to find a way that works and works for you. Details are definitely far easier to figure out than the bare bones composition and construction of a piece, because if you mess up a highlight on a detail, you can go back and fix it. But if the perspective or construction is wonky or the concept is just not working? You almost have to start all over again or run as fast and faraway as possible from it.

I think when it comes to vegetation... I find myself slowly descending into the impressionist school of thought which is... only highlight the ones that matter or people could actually make out. But then foliage is one of those things that's tricky because it varies depending on what you're trying to do and what you can live with.

I came to your page by accident but this is a truly awesome piece!
The coloring is great, and so it is the dynamism of the piece. I specially love the wings!

For what I saw on the description you are also a Pathfinder player. That's cool!

I'm keeping an eye on your work!

Welcome and thank you! I'm glad to have met you too! It's always a pleasure to meet other fellow Pathfinder players. Your gallery also has quite the range of characters and some really nice colored pencil work, so I shall have to keep an eye on you too. Thanks again and look forward to learning about your own characters.

Most of my pieces are really old because I had to stop drawing for almost 10 years for some reasons and now I am getting back to it.
At this time I no longer have a PC so I have to take awful pics with my phone so I can upload my drawings.

But I do my best.

Thanks a lot for the watch!

Right now I am coloring a drawing of my Skull and Shackles party and working on an art trade with a fellow Pathfinder player from Paizo Messageboards.

I've totally been there before. Phone cameras are nice, but then not so nice when you want to capture a semi-transparent medium with really fine details.  Watercolor, colored pencil and graphite are all really hard to capture well and basically require either a lot of fixing or an amaze ball camera and/or scanner to get it in such a way that it looks as close as possible to reality. It's definitely apparent you've put a lot of work into your pieces despite technology fail. It's neat to see how much you've grown overtime throughout your gallery, 10 year gap or no. I look forward to seeing that Skull and Shackles party piece and whatever other pieces may follow.

I am almost done with it, and then working on some art trades with some other people.

I love drawing other people characters and ideas, it helps me to try new things.

Ahhh this looms amazing!! Definitely better than your first digital works I remember you posting. I'm especially found of the buildings in the bg. They aren't much and don't take up a lot of the image, but they really add to the composition and bring more to the character than just leaving all that there just smoke and sky

Thank you~ This means a lot to me.

It's been a concerted effort to actual pick up the tablet and find a way of rendering in digital that's both aesthetically pleasing and efficient. It's taken a lot of tries and failed attempts, but I think the biggest improvement so far has been getting to a point where it's okay if I start over when something isn't working, as opposed to trying to make it work, no matter what, because I already sunk so much time into it.   It's definitely a lot easier to start over digitally than traditionally. Still trying to get a hold of architecture, but I'm glad they work here. Working on it, I just thought the bottom seemed to sparse without them and nothing makes a sky look bigger than comparing it to some structures.

this is amazing! i really love the way youve positioned her, and the lighting on the arrow really draws your eye to that spot before realizing how detailed the rest of the drawing is. i also really like the design of the character in general? and also that bow!!

Thank you! Probably spent way more time than I should have on all the details that went into this piece- I'd like to think I've made some improvements since the last time I posted something digitally... Still toying around with how to design armor, but I appreciate the feedback.
