Description From their union came an empire, and the unraveling of everything.

It's her again , this time in the arms of another character from the previously mentioned campaign. I've also always been curious about how winged people do the seemingly mundane, it's a subject that amuses me more than it should. Just suddenly adding extra large fluffy appendages suddenly makes everything seem more complicated.

This piece was a gift and another experiment in trying out a more limited palette, with a more subdued lighting situation.

This is truly one of your most mature work I've seen.
The expressions are captured properly.
I think this one really speaks out loud, and gives a beautiful tale in itself, which I think what art is really about: transmuting one emotion from a person to another without words.
Bravo!

Thank you for your beautiful words! I'm glad, you've gotten that impression. It's definitely more mature than previous works I've posted in my gallery but I try to keep this sort of thing still narrative and I'm happy it comes off that way.

Adding large fluffy appendages (or even bat appendages) totally makes everything more complicated! XD Like I still haven't figured out what to do with heads when they're lying on their backs unless they're on multiple pillows or something or maybe they're used to it and their neck muscles have a different kind of relaxed state that comfortably holds their heads up? And clothes become rather challenging XD And if they're anything like birds the ones with avian wings are probably a bit thingi with their flight feathers.

This looks great, love the contrasts of the wings and how you did the feathers.

Apologies for the late reply and falling off the map a bit. The idea of a world where people have wings and how daily life alters to accommodate them fascinates me to no end. It's definitely a self indulgent sort of theme I want to draw around in between other projects that raises all kinds of interesting inquiries like how does the muscular structure actually develop in that case. Part of it is that it's fantasy and can be whatever you want it to be, but where semi realism, realism and fantasy bridge is how you can convince someone one reality could be a reality. How clothes fit or how you would even wash your wings (now I'm imagining giant bird baths Yup, this should become a thing), would definitely make for a fun illustration series.

Thank you! If I could do feathers all day all the time, I totally would.

Giant bird baths! There's an idea I hadn't thought of XD Although maybe swimming pools could count?

I knew statistically I couldn't be the only one that thought about these things ;D

No worries about falling off the map, hope you had more good times than bad out there

Swimming pools are probably even more complex if it's a society of winged people we're talking about. It's like birds in a bird bath competing for space, unless some people have duck wings and just float along lazily for part of the day.

And I'm glad to have found someone else as interested in these things as I am.

And you too~ May you have an excellent 2018~

LoL I didn't even think about swimming pools as most of my characters go to the beach XD Floating duck people would be pretty amusing though XD

Definitely going down in my list of things I'd love to draw because of how silly it sounds. Personally I've been starved of doing more silly concepts, I appreciate having someone to bounce these kinds of ideas off of. Thanks ~

Oh wow! It seems like you've had such a jump forward with your art once again   Both, atmosphere and colours are lovely.
Also, an intriguing quote Makes me think up all kinds of stories and tales in my mind .
Can't wait to see more from you!

UGANIJA! You're still around I'm so happy to see you around again! I hope all has been going well on your end.

I'm glad you've noticed! I may disappear for long periods of time but is no indication of my cessation of drawing altogether. There's been a lot of drawing just not as much posting during those times.

Likewise always up to hearing more stories from you. It's good to hear from you again.

Hey! I am still around, sort of I guess (I've added you on discord, it seems like a more convenient way of communication ).
But yes, creativity happens in short, unexpected bursts on my side, just none of it gets posted here

Woot~ I think of all the means of communication it's the one I haven't had any issues with so far. Skype just became one issue after another over time and now I will not pick it up if I can help it. If  you ever want to share some small sketch or silly project, I'm there for that. Otherwise I hope you've been doing well these past months.

oh god I love this so much, it's so pretty and heartfelt. it reminds me a bit of orthodox russian church art, for some reason.

Russian Orthodox church art from what period? Or like ? That is an interesting parallel! If I had to hazard a guess I'd say it may have something to do with the most detail going into the faces and things getting more painterly as they go out. Trying different things in each digital piece I upload. Russian Orthodox Church art wasn't on my mind at the time, but totally makes sense once I google it.

Thank you!

Oooh, mostly a mix, not necessarily stylistic but mostly the idea and the wings gave me that feel.
It reminded me a bit of the general artstyle but also of these things: www.dreamstime.com/stock-photo…

this is beautiful!! you're really improving a lot with every new submission, and i really love the softness that comes off of this piece, with the two snuggling together in what otherwise should be a simple task were it not for their wings. the small details really bring the piece together -- the rose petals that transition into the shredded dress  is a really nice touch, and i keep going back to how distinctive your painting style is, because i can recognize that it was you before i even see anything other than the art itself.

  Thank you so much!

I've been trying out different techniques with digital to get somewhere closer to where I'd like to end up. Working mostly hyper rendered and realistic so I can develop a solid grasp on foundations. Although I long to do something more simplified and graphic to offset the time consuming nature of many of these more recent projects and as a sort of true test to see how far I've come along. I've stopped focusing on styles long ago and found that things just emerged organically that way, for better or worse.

Thank you for the incredibly thoughtful comment!

This is so beautiful! it's been a while since I saw your art, and you're getting so much better it seems unreal.
This picture looks so beautiful and delicate, I love how you managed the colours and those feathers! Keep up the good work <3

This makes me incredibly happy to hear.

Between long intervals of silence here, I find myself plunging more into the nitty gritty of art, tackling things I've always struggled with mainly related to humans but just trying to get a solid grasp on anatomy and the planes that connect everything, so it's neat to come back to see where I've jumped forward and areas to push further still.

There's definitely room for improvement still, but I am pleased to discover the progress has been noticeable outside my own observations. I've certainly come a long way from where I began and hope to get even further than where I am now. Thank you!
