Dragon Mask I have slowly been working on in between projects/Journal sales/car work/my hectic busy life! LOL!Base of this mask was provided by and can be found in its base form here: [link]
Used real springbok and blesbok horns. Cast baboon jawset...tons....upon tons of Magic Sculpt.
Airbrushed green and bronze
Working on the ears, beard frills and stuff.
Jaw moves with my own.

The base is actually made of plastic. the horns are fairly heavy, but overall the mask weighs about 3lbs.

Crap. I forgot to say that this looks AWESOME! XD I actually like the black and white color scheme better, but it looks more natural after being painted. The black and white version reminds me of Vyshus, though. Dude, your creativity gets me in a good way every time.

I understand! You want the scalemail to go with the mask, and you're going to fashion wings for it, too. But, what's this all for? Ren Faire? Convention? General niftiness??

Most of the awesome goes to Artsquish....for she went through the hours of sculpting upon a human face to make the dragon base...I just decorated it.

Oh man, this is so awesome :3 Dragons have GOT to be my favorite "mythical" creatures.
May I ask, how do you assemble a movable jaw? I've been trying to find tutorials online and no where lists any clear instructions on how to assemble such a puzzling device

Dragons are my most favourite "mythical" creature! They can do and be anything!
But the key to a moveable bottom jaw is to have it anchored to the upper part of the mask, and have the pivot right where your human jaw hinge is located. This allows for more responsive movements. From there it's your choice to have the mask's jaw spring loaded (with springs or elastic bands), or gravity driven with the use of your own jaw. [link]
