"You're the toughest, craziest, most hardcore badass on the planet! You're... the shit!" -Otacon to SnakeSolid Snake is my fictional hero. He's saved the world more than once. He's fought ninjas, tanks, military helicopters, giant nuclear armed walking tanks, he's saved the girl, you just can't bring this man down. I have every Metal Gear Solid game. I know all of the back story. I have a rare collectible Solid Snake action figure. The story writing and character development is the best I've ever seen in a game.
I've been sick the past 2 weeks, couldn't draw or even sit at my desk. Couldn't do much at all. So I decided to pull out Metal Gear Solid 4. The last in the Solid Snake series (supposedly). I've never played it. So I finally did. Not only is it the best game ever made, but its a very sad very powerful ending to Solid Snake. And for a fan of the series there's a lot of little nostalgia easter eggs that are absolutely amazing. The music is amazing. Just everything about it. I was very inspired. So I did this quick sketch of Snake. The greatest action hero of all time. You've earned your rest Snake!

ps. The art was inspired by Yoji Shinkawa, one of my favorite artists, one of the best concept artists there is, and the artist and art director of the Metal Gear Solid series.

lol thats the best. he's been doing that since the classic NES Metal Gear games. Kojima tademarked it even so if another game company used boxes like Snake does he could sue. pretty awesome.

thank you! I've been kinda anxious to get back into drawing comics. So I've been testing little things like this on my tablet lately to see how I could start doing comics on it. Portraits and covers are fun and all, but I think I had the most fun when I was working on a comic book.

that one, on the other hand, wasn't a ton of fun haha. It was fun trying to do it in 24 hours. But I like working on a comic book at a regular pace. It's fun and gives me something to work on each day, atleast til the project is over. Hopefully in December or January I'll have some free time so I can get a job working on a cool book or something

Thank you! I've been messing with PS brushes to try and get a somewhat traditional look lately. Since my huge 21UX Cintiq takes up my whole desk now I can't easily switch between drawing with paper and ink and digitally so unless someone really needs traditional art I'll be trying to use the Cintiq more. So I don't want it to look all computerized and digitally inked
