When ponyo plays I imagine that magic happens! I had this idea while laying around two months ago after my accident. I thought it will be cute have her blowing a bubble but instead creating a fish.I started it over a month and a half ago but did not published since I was hoping on keep working on the background a bit more.
I made this with color pencils.

I personally would have preferred a little more cool colors to make all those warm colors pop, but that is just me. It is still a adorable concept and beautifully executed!

You are very welcome! 
I think, and this is just my personal opinion, that you really wouldn't have to do much with the background. Leaving it as is would be alright. Maybe adding some blues to highlight a few strands of hair here or there or adding a light layer of blue/purple to give the shirt a bit more depth would be all you'd really need. Just my thoughts though.
