Bio:
The scion of the proprietor of a successful seahorse breeding and training ranch, Cahal Callahan wanted to become a jockey. Forbidden from riding any of the Thoroughbreds, however, he pursued another venture to quench his competitive drive. This opportunity arrived when oil baron and Deep Blue Inkorporated minority owner Jerry Eeling and his son J. R. visited before The Derby to go on a hunting trip with both Cahal and his father.

Cahal learned about J. R.’s ambition to become a battler in the top flight division of the Profreshional Splatoon League and decided to follow him to the amateur leagues. After Deep Blue Inkorporated signed J. R., he used his influence to convince its management to offer a tryout to Cahal, who would prove his worth as an addition to their team.

Cahal has not forgotten his enthusiasm for seahorse riding and continues to operate the ranch to produce successful racing seahorses, but now he has an endeavor in which he can actively compete in. Although he had to reign in J. R. for his misbehavior at times, Cahal remains a loyal friend to him ever since being introduced to his newest passion.

Scouting analysis:
Like his hunting buddy Eeling, Callahan prefers a more aggressive play than Deep Blue Inkorporated is usually accustomed to, although not quite as much as Eeling. Using the patience and skills he learned from hunting, Cal earns his splats by cornering, flanking, or sharking his opponents rather than hastily pursuing them. These tactics, especially the latter two, have also made him a very effective defender. Hence, he can seamlessly flex between the slayer and support positions depending on the team composition.

Previously a Nozzlenose main, Callahan was among the first profreshional battlers to try out the new Brella class of weapons and has now made the Splat Brella, particularly the Sorella variant, his primary weapon of choice. Its shotgun-like spray is devastating up close, and both the launchable canopy and Autobombs allow him to force his opponent to retreat. He still sometimes uses a Nozzlenose–an L-3 variant as a slayer and an H-3 variant as a support–and also awaits the arrival of the Kensa Undercover Brella.
