Bio:
Until the day a Splashial Forces Splatoon discovered her trapped in a cave-in during a raid of an Octarian outpost, Katerina Belova’s life had been harrowing. Orphaned at a very young age, she was recruited into the fledgling Elite Octoling Sniper Unit, where she endured a physically brutal training regimen and emotional repression as she was being fashioned into a lethal, emotionless assassin by her Octarian superiors, whose intention was to replace the immobile, expensive Octosnipers with Octoling snipers.
The Inkling Splashial Forces sent Katerina to the Octoling community of Blighton Beach, where the elderly proprietress of the Octarian Tea Room, Maria Belova, recuperated and adopted her. Katerina eventually took to afternoon tea and sport shooting to mentally and emotionally recuperate. It was during one round of sporting clays that her sniping skills were discovered by Orlando Augustín. While her joining Red October fills the need for a Charger, her new Octoling teammates have understandingly been patient with her making her profreshional debut, hoping to ameliorate her psychological issues first.
Scouting analysis:
Thanks to her intensive training as an Elite Octoling sniper, Belova is quick, agile, silent, accurate, and deadly. Her sniping style is offensive; rather than merely defend one area, she travels among multiple locations that offer cover and actively seeks out opponents–particularly those engaging any one of her teammates–and splats them on sight. This complements Red October’s modus operandi very well, allowing them to push farther into their opponent’s turf with the confidence that she has their backs covered.
Belova has a preference for the E-liter 4K Scope, the longest-ranged weapon available, offering her the most distance between herself and her opponents. Whenever she needs charge storage for mobility, she will use the scopeless version instead. She also often uses both the regular and the Firefin variants of both the Splatterscope and the Splat Charger when she needs both more mobility and better objective control. While not a splatling user, she would like to try the upcoming Ballpoint Splatling Nouveau.
