Bio:
Vladimir Splatimov is the grandson of Viktor Splatimov, a former navy lieutenant in the Octarian navy who defected to Inkopolis shortly after the preventable deaths of a fellow officer’s crew. Having witnessed Cap’n Cuttlefish and his splatoon protect and rescue a fellow wounded Inkling solder beforehand, Viktor totally understood the contrast in how the Inkling leadership and the Octarian leadership each treated their respective soldiers. Viktor became an informal military consultant to the Inkling leadership and still remains both a wealth of advice to the players of Red October , the first all-Octoling team he co-founded with Orlando Augustín, and an inspiration to Vladimir.

Large and in charge, the only things bigger than this giant Octoling are his jovial, docile personality and his gentle heart; he usually gets along with everybody he encounters–from the brash, excitable Santiago Kappablanka to the modest, quiet Shao Weimin and the determined, passionate Omar Augustín –and has a great sense of humor. Belying his hulking size, he is a gentle soul, only getting hostile when he absolutely has to.

Scouting analysis:
Splatimov is a larger target, which opposing snipers try to exploit, but can withstand 50% more of the opponent’s ink than could a typical Octoling or Inkling. He also moves more slowly than others but is not slowed down as seriously when carrying any heavyweight weapons, including the Rainmaker. In contrast to his younger days, Splatimov is now more selective as to when he pushes into the opponent’s territory, and if he is at the doorstep of the opponent’s base, there is nowhere left to hide.

Splatimov often uses multiple variants of the Heavy and the Hydra Splatlings–preferring the latter for its range and power–depending on the mode and the stage. His strength also allows him to effectively wield both the Dynamo Roller and the Tenta Brella. His aim with the Sting Ray is trustworthy enough to stop opponents’ Tower and Rainmaker pushes. A dedicated weapons buff, he looks forward to the upcoming Kensa Dynamo Roller, the Explosher, and both new splatling models—the Ballpoint and Nautilus.
