War is Hell... but War of the Independents is all kinds of cool. It's a 6 issue mega-cool mini-series, by Dave Ryan & Scott Lobdell... I strongly recommend folks keep an eye out for it Summer '08. The cast and crew represented here in part, is a really good example of why I love comics so much.Not sure how it happened, but one day I woke up and too much time had passed since I gave in to the muse that keeps tugging at me, to draw my creator owned character-- XSTACY. This pic is dedicated to Deviant's very own Y2Jenn... for reminding me of what I had been missing out on, and lighiting a fire to make the time for Xstacy... stat! While drawing this image-- I had more fun than any one person has a right to... so if that's wrong, I don't wanna be right.

I like the look on her face. The only problem i see is her boobs seem a little un effected by gravity. But seeing its comic book style i dont know if you indended it. Good job none the less.

I was honestly at a loss for coherent words when I first saw this. I had to take a moment to collect my thoughts before I could pull myself away long enough to write a comment. This is absolutely beautiful, everything about it is just gorgeous. You have such an incredible talent for natural and animated figures, expressions and composition. This is a killer piece and XSTACY is a wonderful character. I love her design! She's got such personality in her pose and in that picture of her on the wall. 
I don't think I've ever told you how big of an inspiration you've been for me as well. You're a breath of fresh air and a reminder of why I love the comic book world so much.

You really have such a wonderful blend of animation and naturalism. It allows your images to flow and move with the excitement of a cartoon, while still feeling realistic enough to be natural. It's the kind of heightened reality that comics do so well, and you're a pitch-perfect example. I'm a huge fan of your work, and this piece shows why.

Great work and wonderful fluidity on this! Amazing details with ALL the characters in the back. Kinda reminds me of days of future past, but thankfully not the same way EVERYONE draws the recreated cover.

Hello Sweetness... thanks for the props on the pic. I drew them all in... and it killed to have to cover up any of the mugshots. Maybe one day I'll post the poster in its entirety without the figures in front of it obstructing the view.
Glad you're glad. You were one of those who made me really nostalgic when you drew Xstacy... whatta beautiful gift. Always loved seeing different takes on her from day one, but I was like... wish I could draw Xstacy... but one project after the next after the next kept coming up. I decided this weekend that I was gonna play 'hookie' from work and draw me some Xstacy... and dammit, it felt good!
