The water... well no secret First I used the masking fluid to cover the places where the splashes of water should be. Then I used ultramarine blue and a little of burnt sienna to paint the water, let ir dry. Then I used an old toothbrush to rub some paint off - you can easily wash ultramarine blue off - in this way I did the waves in the background. Then I removed the masking fluid and it already looked good but I decided to add some more white using white gouache paint
