Description This is the first time that I've actually photographed a butterfly.
You don't see many butterflies in Al Jafliya, so it was rather nice to come across one today.

'Tittli' means Butterfly in Hindi/Urdu.

You sneaky so and so... first you remove it from featured and then you rearrange the gallery so that a "true watcher" gets suspicious and switches to "Browse".

That is truly artistic... not like many of the gazillion other pretty shots found around here.

Anyways, just spoke to my good pal, Google, who tells me that this is a
Plain Tiger or African Monarch (Danaus chrysippus), a common butterfly.

I thought it might be a Heliconid Butterfly, but they are found in the New World, and the Monarch Butterfly Danaus plexippus is one of them so I can see why it's called the African Monarch

You know, it looks a lot like a Tawny Coaster (Acraea terpsicore) as well.
