He didn't "HAVE" to do any of this. He's just a man obsessed with a ghost. A man that couldn't learn to let things go. And because of that, he made a domino of situations that led to his daughter nearly being driven insane, creating a monster that hunted and killed people, led to York being killed, innocent people being hurt, and dozens of unassuming soldiers being killed.
He didn't need to kill York or North or anyone... It's just because of what he did and the sins he created that good people had to suffer.

Hmm...wouldn't that mean in a way, Church is Carolinas dad too, I mean he is based off of/mapped off of/ whatever it's called of the Directors brain.
But it explains why Tex didn't dislike Carolina like she did to Tex, at all and actually showed to care for her a times in the show (when she punched her in the head to knock her out for example when Carolina had the breakdown)

With her parentage revealed, suddenly everything that's happened to Carolina, Church, Tex, and the Director seems 100 times sadder.

It all makes sense now. Carolina got her mean, bad ass attitude from Allison/Tex and her brains and eyes from Leonard/the Director. But wait! If Tex is the memory of Allison and Allison is Carolina's mom, does that mean that her mom effectively beat her in all of those challenges and missions? And how does she have red hair when neither her mom nor her dad have red hair?
BEST EPISODE EVER!!! The only thing I'm really waiting for now is to either see the faces of the Reds and Blues or find out what her real first name is.

Some hair colours are recessive traits, which means mean that some people carry the red hair gene only that a dominant gene of another hair colour is actually expressed. If a person is born with two alleles of the same recessive gene, such as the red hair gene, only then will it be expressed. Alison and Leonard probably had a recessive red hair gene each only to be dominated by another hair colour and Carolina inherited both red hair genes from her parents, therefore she has red hair while her parents don't.
