Description: If you are big fan of Timon from Disney's The Lion King, then you should know that Timon(or some of you may call him, Timon Berkowitz, despite his full name from the TV series, Timon and Pumbaa) is a meerkat. Meerkats are Africa's most popular mongoose species, thanks to these animated movies that starts with The Lion King, rivaled against the Indian graey mongoose(despite these critters are popular, thanks for the example, of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book series, including Rikki-Tikki-Tavii.). Mongooses are more closely related to cats, than musteloids, while the musteloids are more closely related to bears, dogs, and pinnipeds, than to mongooses. The mongooses' most closest relatives, are fossas and hyenas. They looked a lot like weasels, by appearances, the meerkats lived in southern parts of Africa. They lived in bigger packs, called "gangs," "colonies," "clans," or "mobs." The meerkat clan is consisted of about 20 meerkats, but some super-families contained up to 50 meerkats, talk about a swarming felinoids. All meerkats are immune to the highest deadly venom from their prey, such as the stings from the scorpions, and bites from spiders and snakes. Most meerkats have dig tunnels, to make them their cities in the underground, which they can make home for them and their family, even along with their friends, and roomates. And didn't you know, a group of meerkats are more like humans, which their clan has their leaders, like a mating pair whose both male and female.  They can share with the non-meerkat animals for their borrow, like other mongooses(except for bigger ones, because they are too big to get into the borrow) and ground squirrels. The guards of the meerkat clans are called "sentries," which they can keep on the lookout for predators, like eagles, and graey-back jackals. Baby meerkats are called "pups," or "meerkittens," don't usually forage, until they are about 1 month old. Elders of the group may act as the pup's tutors. Not all meerkat clans are allies to each other, but some are rivals, other meerkat clans are enemies.
