I spent,,,so much time trying to get satisfied with this,,,and it didn't work aaaaaaaa. I still like it though. It just isn't perfect. I was probably never going to be satisfied with the background just based on my current abilities to be fair. Anyways, here's my boy!

I am like obsessed with Darren wearing a grey beanie in autumn. I don't know why...but he looks cute and cool. I was tempted to draw him drinking some soft of autumn coffee or whatever, and I have done that before I think, but tbh I don't think he's the Starbucks type. He's just a cool metal rocker dude leaning against a wall. I kinda don't remember why I went with that colour shirt and not just a red one...I think maybe I expected it to suit the autumn vibes better? I dunno. As for the jacket though, I planned that at the sketching stage and knew it was going to be a pain in the ass...boy, was it! If anyone is wondering why my OCs usually have such boring outfits in solid colours, it's because I'm lazy and doing patterns is a pain. I actually updated my CSP (not to version 2 because fuck that lol, but I was a few versions behind) so I could get the liquefy pen because I thought it might help a bit...usually I use mesh transform to shape patterns around clothing folds, and I did some of that here. For the smaller bits though, I thought liquefy would work better. It probably would've if I knew how to use it LOL. I actually don't think I did too badly, but you can definitely see some wonkiness. The hem though...yeah, that was kind of a mistake. I was trying to use the same technique I use for Jade's frayed shorts, but it isn't really made for this kind of thing. Also it was a nightmare with the pattern on top of that haha. Glad I tried at least. The jean texture was pretty last minute. I don't usually do it these days but I figured why not. I think it looks okay. Drawing legs in this pose is weird...I may have cut them off awkwardly oops.

The background took forever, as one might expect. I do not like how the sidewalk turned out but I don't know what more to do with it so we're accepting it as it is. The grass looks pretty much how it normally does...same with the trees...I'm pretty happy with how the leaf shading worked out but also don't zoom in lol. The brick wall...that's what I've been working on for like. ever lol. I think I got the mortar lines in last week and then yesterday and today I've been finishing up the wall, getting the textures in, etc. I'm like...really happy with how it turned out lol. Like actually, I'm really proud of it. Relied heavily on this tutorial, though I didn't follow it perfectly bc I don't think it was made for CSP, and I think I skipped a few parts but ANYWAY it was quite helpful and I like my bricks a lot! Maybe they're disproportionate. I can live with that though. They look cool as shit.

I thought I had more to say about the background and honestly I probably do have more to say that I've just completely forgotten riP...I'll be quiet for now though lol. Happy viewing!
