Description
A replica 90 percent done, all that needs to be done is the silver paint on the edge. Painted to match the Vaizard's sword in the picture from the manga Bleach. Thus that image isn't mine. Just pine again, carved by hand, single edge this time, gold paint, and blue cloth (no tape this time) I'll add more details later.Total length 40"
Blade length 30"
Handle length 10"
The sword itself is one piece of wood carved out of a pine 2x4, and the guard is carved out of mahogany. This was made with absolutely no power tools, just a knife and chisel.

Three hours! My Sode no and Tenza took me weeks using power tools. But then sometimes I could only work on them for a few minutes per day.

Haha, yes, just a chisel and a knife, thats the only tools I use besides a handsaw to cut out the blanks. I'm glad you like it, I work pretty hard at it. And thanks a lot for the comment!

yo man this is version of lisas zanpakuto is awsome...i really want to make ichigos bankai zanpakuto and vaizard mask out of wood but compared to yours it probably wouldnt look sooooooo real like that..

If you want to make a vaizard mask you should ask behindinfinity he made one out of plaster for his cosplay convention and did a pretty decent job too.

to get the curve im just assuming ur using a hand sander and taking it to the back of the fat part of the blade yes?

i hand carve the whole thing out of a 2x4, or a bandsaw, but the shape is scribed out

I'm having trouble realizing that this is really wood, and I saw it *before* the paint and wrapping.
how did the black enamel paint turn out? it looks very nice in the picture.
I'm just sitting around now, waiting for my own version...maybe with a shorter handle and longer blade...

Not really, It keeps twisting to far around the handle, and I can't keep the twists all on one side to create that diamond pattern. My wrapping might be to stretchy.
What would you suggest for the best wrapping material(easiest to use).

i really like hockey tape myself, its not super tacky, but it works really well, doesn't stretch too bad, and feels good.
