Description It's Secret Santa gift time for  

I LOVE doing Secret Santa gift exchanges.  This is for the one `Crickatoo hosted.  (And a big thank you to her for putting on another lovely ESS event!  )

This is Kaynigh, the equine version of *Jahpan 's lion character.  Kaynigh has such a pretty design, I just adore her!    Her colors are gorgeous, and her mane and tail have beautiful little star-speckles in them.  (Her reference pic reminded me of a frosty, winter Princess Celestia! fav.me/d6f86tc )  I had such a fun time drawing Kaynigh and working with this color scheme!    As you can see, she's having a fun time watching (and tasting ) the falling snow.

Oh wow! This is BEAUTIFUL! That mane! The colours are so perfectly matched and the whole thing is so wonderfully put together


As usual, the horse looks great too! sdjkfhdskj I just love this piece!

Thank you my dear!  (And big thanks for the fave, too!  )  I had a fun time trying to figure out a color-scheme for this piece and thought the pink would give it a unique touch.  (It was all blue at first, but then I decided it looked super-boring!  )  I'm so glad you like that mane, too!    It was a challenge since I usually paint short-maned horses, but I definitely think I'm improving on painting hair.    Thanks for the delightful comment!

I always find longer manes had to draw, which is why I stick to shorter ones usually

Me too!  I think they're a lot harder to draw, especially long forelocks.  I really admire all the equine artists on DA who can draw those super-long, fluffy, flowing manes.

Nope!  It's actually 100% digital!    I've been practicing a lot with textures recently and trying to achieve a more traditional look with my digital art.  Glad to hear I fooled you!    I forgot to say earlier, if you'd like me to send you the un-watermarked version of this piece, just let me know!  I'm happy to do so!
