Description THIS IS HOW I MAKE THESE BUNNYS! Its not THE right way to do these.

WOO!!! My first tutorial!
After so much time Its finally done!

Please, do say if anything is unclear or you find typos. Ive been working on it for whole 3 days without doing anything else... I feel tired... Also, I took these photos on a very cloudy day, so some of the pics might be blurry. Sorry.

Ok... SO some tutorials how to even crochet. Found these in here DA. I dunno, didnt quite find anything I would be satisfied myself. Guess my next tut will be how to crochet.

Chain [link]
single stitch [link]
Blah... Guess I do have make an extra tut on crochet stitches. You can look for more links with google.

If you use this tutorial, plz send me a link of your work!
I would love to see your version of this bunny!

I just want to say awesome tutorial but you crocheted inside out! the tail should be on the inside!

Si3art In reply to Artisticman16 [2013-08-27 23:08:30 +0000 UTC]

I... Did?.... Huh.
Well, maybe yeah,ย  but this is the way I've done these.

Oh, and the tail wasn't crotheted along the way-it was added later so, no. The tail should be where it is.

Artisticman16 In reply to Si3art [2013-08-28 19:16:40 +0000 UTC]

yeah you do it how you want, by the way I ment the tail as in the string when you start should be on the inside

I wouldn't have thought about sewing beads, it is very pretty! And SO thank you for calling it simply "crochet", and not that "amigurumi", like it never existed here before. I'll keep this pattern preciously.

I actually ended up making an elephant, since that is my favorite animal. for not knowing what the heck I was doing, and for being a beginner at crocheting, I think it turned out alright.

darcywoo6 [2011-09-07 04:28:56 +0000 UTC]

What will happen If I use a different size hook?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Si3art In reply to darcywoo6 [2011-09-07 17:38:23 +0000 UTC]

Then you have to use a different size of yarn too.
Well, the nr 3 hook is the most regular one (at least for me :/ ), the most important thing is that the size of yarn and the hook fit together if you want smooth crotheted surface.

If the hook is big and the yarn is small, then there will be kind of "holes" in the crotheted surface and the opposite way (small hook and too big yarn), well, the yarn just wont stay long behind the hook and its just uncomfortable. :>

Use whatever size you want as long as the hook kinda matches with the yarn.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

darcywoo6 In reply to Si3art [2011-09-08 00:50:42 +0000 UTC]

How do I tell if it matches?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Si3art In reply to darcywoo6 [2011-09-08 14:22:20 +0000 UTC]

Aww... You dont know?! D: Wait... Dont you have some craft books what teach the very basics of crotcheting (or you could always get one book from the libary?)

Ugh... Well, shortly the hooks usually are numbered, right? When you choose a brand new yarn from the shop, then theres always marked on the lable what size hook it requires. If youre just using sth you found in your home, then Id suggest just to try it out and look how it turns out.
Im getting curious already, what size of hook are we talking about? ^^

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

darcywoo6 In reply to Si3art [2011-09-08 23:17:53 +0000 UTC]

HHHHHHHHHHHH
Lol I'm using H.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Si3art In reply to darcywoo6 [2011-09-10 18:31:32 +0000 UTC]

Wait, what? The hook is numbered "H"?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

darcywoo6 In reply to Si3art [2011-09-11 01:14:42 +0000 UTC]

UH..........
Metric size ish 5 o-o

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Si3art In reply to darcywoo6 [2011-09-11 11:03:01 +0000 UTC]

Thats.... Pretty big.
Well, either you have to use a bigger yarn then or buy both a smaller hook and yan with it?

I dunno... Just do what sound best for you.

yaloization [2011-07-08 23:24:56 +0000 UTC]

so you said you could make other animals with this? such as a monkey or a cat? and does it have to be a 3mm hook? cause I'm kinda broke and only have a 3.5

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Si3art In reply to yaloization [2011-07-09 15:24:37 +0000 UTC]

Yep. You just have to make different ears and a tail and youve got another animal than a bunny.

Huh, Yea, I meantioned 3mm hook, but never the size of the yarn. :<
Actually, yes, you can use a 3.5 mm hook too as long as you also use a thicker yarn (or just crochet two thinner yarns together?). If you use a thin yarn and a big hook, then it will leave pretty big holes between the stitches and overall the crocheted thing will be loose. :I

You dont have to specifically use a 3mm hook, its just important that the hook and yarn would match.

I'm having some trouble with the head, i just don't get the first step with the chains and the slip knots >.< , I started crocheting yesterday and I really want to make this bunny, but I just don't understand. Can you help me?
This is a great tutorial by the way ^^

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 2

Si3art In reply to Jaywhisper478 [2011-07-03 17:34:19 +0000 UTC]

Hmm. Head... Oh yes. You mean the very first step of the head, neh?
You have the lil cone shaped body and then crochet 2 chains and just connect it to the next stitch you see on the body with the regular single crotchet stitch. And repeat it 6 times. (2 chain stitches and connect with single crotchet stitch to the body.) Basically youre "growing the stitches" Dont know if its the right way to say it...

Thank you for this!! I saw the cute crocheted creatures in your gallery and was wondering how you did them. ^__^ My dad has crocheted for my entire life, but I've never really been inspired to learn (he does practical stuff like blankets, hats, slippers, etc). After seeing how cute your animals were, I definitely am now. XD Thanks so much! <3
