Its very true about the types of weapons. Photography can really hurt someone emotionally, many stories have proved that. Amanda Tod was one of these victims who ended up committing suicide. (look her story up and see for your self) Photography can also protect people as well, like in a court room for hard evidence. If I was a lawyer, I would want to have hard evidence to show to the judge. As for the firearm, it is used as a product of protection and terrorism. Guns are a very helpful and deadly thing. I would treat them both carefully.

If cameras are weapons, Amanda Todd essentially used them to commit suicide twice; the first time was when she voluntarily got naked in front of one. I'm not sure how she's a victim in this context; a victim of bullying after the fact, sure, but the first shot came from her own gun.

The message this image sends is incredibly wittily thought out and strong. The angles at which the "weapons" are being held are identical, it's amazing how well this frame was captured considering the fact that those are not models but real people in an actual situation.
There is a certain kind of contrast between the uniform and shirt, and how well protected the soldier is, while the photographer seems bare compared to him.
All I can say is congratulations, this is the kind of photography that is powerful and true and you captured it brilliantly.
This has been the highest rating of any critique that I have given, and it is well deserved. I love this shot and haven't seen something with such a strong impact in a long time.

It's not hypocritical because it's not about judging these people it's about showing that something like the media can be worse than an army.

I have to wonder though. Isn't this image rather hypocritical? If it is as you say -- they aren't posing -- then they are, effectively, using a photograph to judge these people.

No one is judging anyone. Those weapons are used for different kinds of wars.

The weapon on the right is very persuasive... it is the device which serves for raising fear, coercion and eventually killing.
On the left side we have a weapon which has far more complex use than a gun. It can show truth or manipulate facts and images. Sometimes one accidental picture can ruin somebody's life or push him to commit suicide.
You are asking which of the weapons is more dangerous...
I would say that it's not a matter of weapon but of the one who holds it in his hands. Because he is the one who chooses how to use it...

A very powerful image.. I get a feel of "we're all human" from this.. showing similarity between two individuals despite them being in tow completely different rolls. Amazing

It's nice how this picture shows two people apparently fighting for us and looking all nice and happy but in reality they're really chasing their own obejctives.
What i think is really funny is how they appear so similiar, yet are really different.
One is able to control a mass of people, the other one is in a mass controlled by few people...
If you look at the photographer he appears so innocent but is in reality a person who could do really big damage, i think people like the soldier are the real innocent ones because they get influenced by people like the photographer.

It is never about the weapon, but how or if one uses it and for what end. Of course guns kill people, irrelevant or misleading photos just confuse or hurt, usually..but they can also lead to anger, propaganda, provocation, which can lead to wars. So, it is the mind of the human holding the weapon that is the most dangerous of all

The gun shoots bullets. The camera may at worst, capture some blurry images.
