These are not in the exact order I drew them bc I was trying to find the ideal aesthetic arrangement (may have missed there but oh well) and I drew them in a really wonky order anyway. Regardless, I've been working on these for around 3 weeks or so, and I know they look very sloppy, but even when I try to make sketchy style drawings with limited shading, I still manage to take absolutely forever to complete them. So yeah, this is how we're celebrating Halloween over on this page lol. I've been on a big Saw kick lately and it just felt right. I didn't include any Saw VI traps just because none of them really fit imo since they're basically all competition traps and I didn't want to pit my little guys against each other. I guess Whitney is kind of on the edge there since her trap does rely on another person but still. Time for my rambling now.

Tempo was a bit of an odd choice, but when I realized Whitney was the only kemonomimi OC in here, I wanted to give her an ally. And Tempo is the one I've drawn the least, so here he is! I mean, he is a drummer, so breaking his fingers would be a harsh price for him to pay. This is one of the later ones I did, which might show in how not detailed it is...in my defence, the mask doesn't actually have that much detail, or at least not as much as it seems. And then I ended up cutting out most of Tempo's outfit to make it even easier on myself haha. In fairness, the harness would've just looked like part of the trap and been confusing, so that's why I left it out. I think he's still recognizable and the hair turned out surprisingly sick.

Darren my beloved! He was planned from the start lol. Some of these are more fitting than others...this one kind of suits Darren given that he is a former heroin addict, but it was mostly just me wanting to put my favourite OC in the most iconic trap. I spent a fucking TON of time on that trap, as you can hopefully tell, and good lord it was so much work but I knew I had to do it justice as best I could. I kinda slacked off at the back and just had his hair cover it but I'm still valid. I weirdly don't have much to say about this one; I'm just happy with how it turned out.

Of course I had to put a character named Shriek in the silence circle lol. I took some liberties with this trap as you can see...a lot of the details around the edges are missing, like the pillars and the mechanisms behind the spikes. That's just because I thought it looked cooler like this. Worked out well for me too lol. I found this one surprisingly difficult...something about the pose was really hard for me to get right. I ended up taking a break for a few days and then coming back to it and doing it perfectly fine lmao. I really should've given more of them that disheveled hair thing she's got going on...it was an intentional choice but then I forgot to do it with most of the other characters lol. As for her makeup, I like the way the eyeliner tear tracks look, and for her cheek designs, I went with puzzle pieces cause of course I did LOL.

Phaibun took a lot longer than I thought she would. I think I forgot about the headpiece when I decided to do this trap haha...that took up most of the time. It looks wonky, I know...it's okay though. I can accept that. She's in this trap because nail salon business. It could've been Sanit, and almost was, but I changed my mind, largely for the same reason I put Tempo in the set - Phaibun is somewhat new and I haven't drawn her that much. She's got her hair in its regular casual style here, which is fitting, shows off her everyday look (minus the work dress lol), and hides some of that dang headpiece. As for the fingers, yeah, the blood looks godawful. You'd think someone like me who adores gore and other edgelord bs would be great at drawing blood but I am not. In any case, I just wanted to show the trap actually in progress.

Summer! She was, I think, the second one I sketched, but the last one I finished. I actually just got her done earlier today in fact. I saved her for the end because I realized she was going to be the easiest and I think that was a good call so nice job me. I went hard torturing her lol. I chose this trap for her specifically because she can't swim. Which like. Obviously swimming isn't going to help you in this situation anyway but I just figured, put the OC who feels least at ease in the water directly into the water trap. I only just now realized that I put the two water traps directly near each other but let's just ignore that. While I didn't quite capture the lighting effect of the water cube trap in the movie (I was going to but I'm lazy and I made some silly choices with the layers that made it more difficult), I'm still fairly happy with the lighting on her. The one thing I'm a little bummed about is that her shawl starts to blend into the background a bit...oh well.

Good ol' Whitney! My original idea for this was to put Rajata in it because, y'know, long hair...but I didn't really want to depict my younger OCs in traps too much and she was already assigned to one anyway (I realize these two things are very contradictory but we'll get there) so I decided on Whitney. I realized well into the drawing that pretty much any of my other kemonomimis aside from Ricardo and Tempo would've been better because I'm pretty sure they all have longer hair than Whitney and I'm not sure why that didn't occur to me but by then it was too late and Whitney is my favourite anyway, so in she goes. I got a bit lazy with this trap but it was hard to get reference shots of it, especially from this angle. I got what I could from the behind the scenes video but in the movie itself the scene is so dark it's borderline impossible to see how the gears interlock. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol. Her front blends into the background just like Summer's shawl does unfortunately...also she might look a bit weird without her bow...but the gag in her mouth is the same colour and I was thinking it might just actually be her bow untied. That'd be cool and fun. Anyway.

Okay. So. The rack. This one took so much longer than expected. I never realized how hard that trap would be to draw. You know the sad thing too? When I was thinking about Saw III traps, I almost went with the shotgun collar but decided against it because I thought that would be too hard to draw. ha. ha ha. i am stupid. It worked out because I wanted to draw Garlic shirtless but still LMDFJKNJB. So my entire Sunday was finishing this up. I had sketched his body already and just needed to put in the actual details of the trap. I didn't think it would take all day. I really didn't. It kinda looks shitty and I'm sorry. His giant feet don't help. I don't know why I can't draw feet normal sized. The foot and hand parts of the contraption actually don't look as bad as I thought they did though so that's cool. It's mostly just the headpiece that looks horrendous. And there are some details missing because at that point I just couldn't be bothered anymore unfortunately. Garlic himself looks mostly cool though, aside from the giant feet and tiny head. His head looks small almost every time I draw him I don't know why. I love him anyway though.

Eva was actually the second one I finished, to my surprise. I am shocked by how fast I got the trap done in comparison to the others. Sure, it's not amazing, and I did forget there are eye and mouth holes in the front part of the mask, but I was kind of overwhelmed by the detail of this trap and then it turned out being much easier than I thought. I decided on this for Eva for the flimsiest reason ever: it's called the venus flytrap and Eva is a plant girl. That's it that's the association. Lmao. You can see I was already starting with the untidy hair even with her; she's got more flyaways than usual for sure. I think they look pretty good though actually. I wasn't sure about doing the eye but the trap wouldn't make much sense without it, so I got things all icky and bloody up there.

The bookers at last! They were the first drawing I did because I thought they would take the longest...lol not even close. Granted, they probably would've taken the longest if I'd shaded them, but I decided not to bother with this one. I chose them for this trap largely because they're a group of five...but also because, like I said, I didn't want to depict my teen OCs panicking and crying for their lives, and the buckethead trap obscures their faces so we don't actually see a bunch of teenagers screaming in pain and terror, and also it's like baby's first trap. It's so easy to escape without any serious injury. So it was the best choice I could've gone with. Also they're unconscious right now so they're not in panic mode yet lol. I did decide to draw them as regular humans because fuck you if you think I want to draw Jade's wings in this position. So no wings and no symbols. For this one, I wanted to mimic the characters' poses in the movie exactly. That wasn't the idea with most of these sketches, but for some it was intentional. I placed Francine and Darshan in those specific places because I thought the poses suited them. Rajata is on the end because since she's so petite, it would be most likely that she'd be the one to get too high a dosage and not wake up in time. Jade and Mark are just kinda there by process of elimination LOL. I'm happy with how it turned out. I think it looks fine without shading and the poses are decently done. Regardless, I'm glad to finally be posting them. Happy Halloween, everyone!
